Installation

Subsea cables are the lifelines of modern society and a very important part of the cable network. Through these cables, both electricity and data communication seamlessly flow between deep fjords, different countries, and continents. Seaworks Kabel AS lay both subsea power cables and subsea telecommunications cables.

Installation requires thorough planning and great accuracy in the execution phase. When working with a project, we always begin by surveying the seabed in the area where the cable is to be installed. The survey provides the necessary information to ensure that the cable does not chafe against rocks or similar obstacles. Several considerations must be taken when planning the route and it is essential that the cable is installed in a way that does not disrupts marine ecosystems.

We can lay subsea cables over both short and long distances.
During the cable installation we monitor touch down point using ROV. With the onboard Software we are monitoring and logging position on cable as it is laid on the seabed, also the forces that the cable is exposed to such as top and bottom tension as well as sagbend radius.
