This summer, Seaworks Kabel proudly completed the installation of three high-voltage submarine power cables in Iceland, strengthening the country’s energy infrastructure.
Seaworks Kabel was contracted by Hengtong Submarine Power Cable under their EPCI agreement with Landsnet to perform the cable installation.
The project included loading and laying cables to Vestmannaeyjar and the western fjord Arnafjörður. To execute the work, Meriaura’s heavy cargo vessel Aura was transformed into a state-of-the-art cable laying vessel, equipped with Seaworks Kabel’s advanced cable handling systems.
Thanks to excellent collaboration with Hengtong and Meriaura, all three cables were installed on schedule, ensuring a reliable and sustainable energy connection for the regions.
This achievement reinforces Seaworks Kabel’s position as a trusted partner for complex submarine cable installations in challenging environments.
